service days

Jiggs Landing Preserve was dedicated December 11,
2010. Soon after that, OBRHS began to conduct Service Days during which we
assist Manatee County in keeping the preserve looking good by picking up trash,
pulling weeds, edging, washing windows, dusting, etc. In addition, we are
continuing to complete furnishing the replica historic cabin.
Service Days are
held on a Saturday morning, usually from 9:00 a.m. to noon. We held three
Service Days in 2011 and the next is planned for Saturday, March 17, 2012. At
this time only OBRHS members are being asked to participate since the workload
has been light. If this changes, we will seek volunteers from outside the
organization. |
