The Old Braden River Historical Society, Inc. holds regular meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. The meetings are held at Woodland The Community Church located at 9607 State Road 70 East, Bradenton, FL. We meet in a room in The Family Center, the large building on the left as you enter the parking lot. The meeting room is to the left as you enter the foyer. Meetings begin at 7:00pm, and generally last a little over an hour.

OBRHS, in partnership with Keep Manatee Beautiful, conducts three cleanups of the Braden River each year. The next one, the International Coastal Cleanup, will be on a Saturday in early October or late September from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the SR64 boat ramp on the Braden River. The cleanups are conducted from kayaks and canoes with one or more power boats for cleaning as well as transporting debris collected by the persons in the smaller vessels. OBRHS provides a few loaner kayaks but participants are encouraged to use their own. Bring safety gear and appropriate clothing including gloves. OBRHS will provide water, litter pickers and trash bags. Youth under eighteen will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver. BRICKS, BRICKS, BRICKS: Engraved bricks are now available for placement at Jiggs Landing Preserve. The bricks are a great way to remember a loved-one, recognize an important date or honor your children or grandchildren.
